Manager, Contracts and Operations
Based in the Midlands / Head Offfice. Suitable candidates should apply in witting, attaching their CV and current remuneration details to S Zojaji.
Contracts and Operations manager reports to the Senior Director of Contracts and Operations.
CM Works closely with the Directors of finance, engineering, sales, and marketing.
Contracts and Operations manager is responsible for:
- Understand and effectively deliver Clients' expectations
- Accurate cost estimation of the contracts during the bidding process
- Cost effective execution of the contracts
Responsibilities
- Working with Sales and Engineering to provide an accurate cost estimation (direct cost) of contracts
- Assuming full ownership of any assigned contract throughout the life of that contract
- Ensuring that processes, procedures and specifications documented for the product lines relevant to any specific contract are fully and correctly executed.
- Planning for the full scope of the contracts, identifying Client's expectations, site conditions and Company expectations from the Client
- Communicating with customer at key points before and during the works and obtaining customer consent on all Technical and Financial variations
- Ensuring that, all labour, materials, and plant requirements are fully identified, and are included in the execution plan
- Prepare detailed Budget plan to include Labour and all purchases (Sub-Contract, Mat (in house and ext inc fuel and expenses) and Plant (in house and ext)
- Ensuring that various support units are informed of the requirements of material and supplies, adequately in advance of the contract execution
- Monitoring all purchases of supplies and materials, and coordinating with purchasing manager to ensure a cost effective purchasing to the detailed Budget Plan
- Working with job costing and accounting group to ensure accurate cost reporting for contracts .
- Ensuring that, during the field execution of the contracts, all legitimate customer requirements and demands are met
- Ensuring high quality of the job performance and the end delivery of the site to customer. This will include identification and management of "fit for purpose attributes"
- Ensuring safety and well being of the workers and others (client Public, visitors etc) at all times.
- Basic understanding of Construction Contract Law and good working knowledge of Forms of Contracts
Requirements
- At least 5 years of contract management experience in comparable sectors, with 3 years in a management position within the Foundations Sector
- Strong operational and Multi-site project management skills.
- Demonstrated team building and leadership skills.
- Solid understanding of engineering technical issues/needs, financial, sales, and marketing as related to product design and development.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a results driven, team oriented environment
- BS degree or similar in Civil Engineering or similar
- Good working knowledge of Design- Foundations and RC
