Underpinning

Underpinning is the term used to stabilise a structure after the ground beneath it has moved.

All Foundations offers a range of underpinning systems, all of which can be installed in areas with restricted access. We offer both piled and traditional concrete underpinning, and a 10 year insurance backed guarantee for all underpinning works.

Our range includes:

With our extensive knowledge of the types of foundation that can be installed in restricted access situations, we are able to offer a full range of designed underpinning techniques, to arrest movement in structures suffering from subsidence, to enhance existing foundations where an increase in load bearing capacity is required, or to deepen existing foundations to facilitate reductions in ground levels.

We also offer a full design and installation service on underpinning contracts, and use our own plant and operatives to undertake the works. Our underpinning solutions can be virtually installed within the confines of an existing house.

Examples of underpinning contracts:

46 Old Road.

Client: Blackshaw Holdings Limited.

Value of Foundations: £260,000.00.

Blackshaw Holdings has a portfolio of rental properties throughout the North of England.

During ongoing maintenance, they encountered cracking within the property.

Having carried out a structural survey on the property it was concluded that the property was suffering from differential settlement to the gable end wall.

Glebe Farm.

The original project was designed/priced on constructing traditional underpinning bays to support of the existing load bearing walls.

Upon commencement of the project we found the bearing strata consisted of soft sands to 3m deep, which would not support the traditional underpinning bays.
