Continuous Flight Auger (CFA) Piling

This method of BORED (replacement) piling, first carried out in the United Kingdom in the mid-60’s, is now the most common type of pile constructed.

Although all types of pile have their advantages and disadvantages, the Continuous Flight Auger (CFA) pile is now used in all types of soil to support nearly all types of structures. The advances in concrete mix design and piling rig (computer) technology has enabled high production levels to be achieved with quality workmanship.

Concrete is pumped under pressure as the hollow stem auger is extracted eliminating the problems associated with water and collapsing soils.

Continuous Flight Auger (CFA) piles can also be used to form retaining walls (contiguous or secant) as well as their traditional use as bearing members.

Environmental constraints often dictate that this non-vibration system is the most popular for town centre projects.

All Foundations offers Continuous Flight Auger (CFA) piling from 300mm to 750mm diameter, up to 1500kN capacity.
Our solutions are installed by highly trained and competent operatives and all our plant and equipment is maintained in-house.

Continuous Flight Auger (CFA) Piling contracts can be completed with a reinforced concrete raft, slab or pile cap. For more information about RC works, please follow this link:
